The leading social poker room for U.S. players, Global Poker, concluded the 2023 Global Poker GOAT V series on Sunday after nearly three weeks of exciting tournament action.
The series ran from July 17th through August 6th, with thousands of players competing in 216 events for a share of the nearly 3 million in guaranteed virtual coins awarded.
Main Event Results
The GOAT V series finished the final day with two main events:
- 40,000,000 Gold Coin Guaranteed GPC GOAT 31-H: Main Event NLHE
- 200,000 Sweep Coins Guaranteed GPC GOAT 31-H Main Event NLHE
“Narcisprince79” took the trophy in the Gold Coins main event. The top prize was 8,519,040 Gold Coins. In the Sweeps Coins category, “Slob On Me Knob” took down the main event for a purse of 33,800 Sweeps Coins.
The 99,000 Gold Coin buy-in Main Event drew 232 entries. “Narcisprince79” defeated “Tekurnegus” (6,264,000) heads-up to take the title and the first-place prize of $2,500 in cash plus the chance to represent Global Poker at a live event. “Amx” finished third (4,718,880), with “Stansm” rounding out the top four (2,422,080).
Sunday’s 99 Sweeps Coins buy-in Main Event drew 1,123 players. “Betohas” finished second to win 25,000 Sweeps Coins. “Matisland” took home 16,980 in third place, and “CashMoneyJerome” finished fourth to win 13,600 Sweeps Coins.
GOAT V Leaderboard
The Sweeps Coins leaderboard was led almost from the start by “TARK,” who held on to finish at the top with 2,276.39 points, just ahead of “pitsmeout” in second with 1,965.91 points. Other players near the top of the leaderboard were “poiuyt” (1,687.13), “Dkoot” (1,652.70), and “waxydabs” (1651.08).
Other Big Winners
There were several other big winners in the final week of The GOAT V series. “itsMoMO” took the top prize of 3,217,500 Gold Coins in the GPC GOAT 17-H: NLHE (Deep). This event attracted 155 entrants with 15,000,000 Gold Coins guaranteed.
“Cryan01” was another winner in the Gold Coins category, navigating a field of 230 players to win the 20,000,000 guaranteed GPC GOAT 14-H: NLHE 6-max – All or Nothing Day, taking the 6,176,730 Gold Coins top prize. “Pizzel2005” was another event winner in the GPC GOAT 16-H NLHE 6-max for 4,583,160 Gold Coins.
One of the biggest Gold Coins purses won during The GOAT V was in the 30,000,000 GPC GOAT 20-H: NLHE. “Lizzie75” won the top prize of 6,660,225 Gold Coins.
On the Sweeps Coins side, “StreetFlash” battled against 410 other runners to win the 3,000 Sweeps Coins guaranteed GPC GOAT 14-H NLHE 6-max. aThat prize totaled 6,135 Sweeps Coins. Finally, “DongzOut420skrttt” overcame a huge field of 646 players to win 20,532.63 Sweeps Coins in the 100,000 Sweeps Coins guaranteed GPC GOAT 20-H: NLHE.
The next major tournament at Global Poker is the Eagle Cup VI. This tournament will run from October 24th through November 13th. It will feature over 831,000,000 Gold Coins and 1,800,000 Sweeps Coins in tournament guarantees. There’s also a chance to win tons of Eagle Cup VI apparel and the new Eagle Cup trophy.
