Global Poker’s First Celebrity Challenge Features Big Names

Global PokerGlobal Poker is hosting the first-ever Global Poker Celebrity Challenge, which began on September 18th and continues through November 13th.

The series has four Celebrity Campaigns featuring NBA stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Paul George, Olympic champion Michael Phelps, and music producer DJ Khaled.

Global Poker players also have a chance to compete against them in four Celebrity Challenge Finals.

Global Poker General Manager Davis Lyons said;

The Paul George Celebrity Campaign

The Paul George Celebrity Campaign was the first event, running from September 19th through October 1st. Starting on October 3rd, players have a chance to play against Towns in his campaign running through October 15th.

Global Poker will hold a series of Sweeps Coin qualifying events leading up to each celebrity campaign, where players compete for a seat at the four Celebrity Challenge Finals.

Those who compete in the Sweeps Coin qualifiers will also have a chance to win a share of the prize pool. They’ll take home exclusive Global Poker gear signed by all the celebrities.

One player from each of the eight qualifiers moves on to the Final. There they’ll battle against each star for a chance to win a seat in the Global Poker Celebrity Campaign Grand Final on November 12th. They’ll also receive a 2024 Ferrari Race Day experience at their chosen location in North America.

Towns has played against George previously and looks forward to going up against Phelps, the 28-time Olympic swimming medalist.

What is Next for the Global Poker Celebrity Challenge?

The next Global Poker Celebrity Challenge will also be for a good cause. The four superstars will compete heads-up against each other. The winner of each best-of-three matchup will have $10,000 donated to their favorite charity. Global Poker will fund all donations.

George says he plans to donate to the American Heart Association. The Los Angeles Clippers forward says the nonprofit organization “holds a special place in my heart” since his mother suffered a stroke when he was six years old.

The four stars will wrap up the event by competing against each other in the Celebrity Challenge Grand Final on November 13th. The top three celebrities will donate a total of $90,000 to the charity of their choice.

The Michael Phelps Celebrity Campaign kicks off on October 16th. Two weeks later the DJ Khaled Celebrity Campaign will begin on October 31st.

The next major event at Global Poker is the Eagle Cup VI. It will run for 21 days starting on October 23rd. It features 216 Eagle Cup VI trophy events with over GC 831,330,000 and SC 1,862,000 in total guaranteed prizes to be given away.
