The Goat Series V at Global Poker began on July 17th, featuring 216 Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins events. At stake were 216 trophies and combined guarantees of 941,000,000 Gold Coins and a record 2,056,500 Sweeps Coins. The series runs through August 6, culminating with two Main Events:
- Gold Coins Main Event with a 99,000 coin buy-in and a 40 billion Gold Coins guaranteed prize pool
- Sweeps Coins Main Event with a 99 coin buy-in and a 200,000 Sweeps Coins guarantee

Later in the series, “Whytry2169 won 4,025,088 Gold Coins after coming out on top in the field of 278 players to win the GPC GOAT 04-H: NLHE 20,000,000 guaranteed Fortune Cookie Day tournament.
